A Few Days in Santa Barbara

Although the plan had been to fly back to Boston, Tim surprised me with a short get-away up the coast to Santa Barbara for my birthday.  The best part was that Penny was able to come along!

We stayed at the Blue Sands Motel right by the beach.  I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this rare pet-friendly establishment, but our room was great with a partial ocean view, a fireplace, cable TV, a microwave, coffee maker, fridge and wine chiller.  I loved the bathroom and the large walk-in shower which, at one point, comfortably held 2 adults and 1 large, curious dog.

It was a fun few days and I’m still unwinding.  My favorite parts include the visit to the Santa Barbara Zoo, the freshly caught local California Rock Crab we had on the wharf, and of course, the fact that Penny was there with us.

Below are some of my favorite photos of the trip.  The rest can be viewed in the Santa Barbara 2012 photo album.
