Thanksgiving Table Setting - Boston 2006

Thanksgiving is around the corner and I haven’t made any plans yet! Usually it’s just the two of us and the dogs. In the past we had a couple neighbors drop by.
We’ll probably end up with our usually turkey and sausage stuffing, some other sides, plenty of wine and a pumpkin pie. Yum!

Two years ago, I was in Boston and spent Thanskgiving with Tim’s family. It was the most traditional Thanksgiving I ever had! My family, like with all holidays, never celebrated Thanksgiving. Growing up, Thanksgiving was just the time of year where I got a half-day on Wednesday and then Thursday and Friday off from school. It was also when the art teacher would have us make hand turkeys, feather headbands and construction paper Pilgrim hats. I always looked forward to the days when she came in. It used to be once a week, but with budget cuts, it dwindled to twice a month. I wonder what it’s like now for kids in elementary school. I think art is so very important to a child’s development, but anyway, I digress…

I just wanted to share some pictures from that Thanskgiving in Boston. Tim’s aunt Doe put in a lot of work into dressing up her home for the holiday. From the Thanksgiving table setting, to the fruit platter, to the wine and snack tables, everything was decked out in colors of the season. I’m a sucker for home decor and spent most of the evening taking pictures! I love the napkins, miniature turkeys and pumpkins, the glitter and the flowers. I’m starting to get ideas about how I want to decorate for our dinner next week, but our apartment is so little and alas, it’s just too much time and money!

Well, here are the pics of the great Thanksgiving table setting and decorations:
