Pictures from Natalie Peruvian Seafood Restaurant

Forgot to include this with my earlier review. They were taken on my camera phone, so don’t expect great picture quality:

We split this seafood soup and still didn't finish it! Great as a meal by itself.

Fried shrimp and calamari on top of a filet of fish and ceviches - Yum!

And the following picture is unrelated but it just happened to be on my phone also. It’s from a French restaurant where my adventurous dining partner decided to order some escargot.

Now, I wasn’t against trying it. I’ve had snails, though periwinkles are more like shellfish since it’s a sea snail. Actually, periwinkles are very good and pretty popular in Asian and British cuisine. I knew escargot is usually made from land snail, or what I call garden snails, so I was expecting something a bit different.

Well it was.  Not bad, but not good. Just very much of nothing but the taste of the butter and garlic sauce they were soaked in. The texture was a bit slippery and tough like oyster mushrooms but as I said, the taste was nothing remarkable.  Don’t think I’ll ever try these again unless it’s prepared differently.

Boring escargot.
