Cheap Trick at the House of Blues Sunset Strip

Cheap Trick rocked the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, Monday, December 16, 2008.

Cheap Trick played a show tonight at the H.O.B. Tim went; I bailed out at the last minute because I wasn’t feeling up to venturing out in the chilly downpour and still had not fully recovered from the “tea” incident. Yes, I’m a wimp, though I did go see them a couple years ago at Avalon in Boston.

Tim, on the other hand, braved the weather and had a great time. He said it was the best Cheap Trick show he’s seen, and he’s seen quite a few.

The band came on right at 9 PM and played til about 10:35 PM.  They did “Dream Police” and “Goodnight” as the encore and paused during the show to point out some family members and friends in the crowd, including Jack Douglas.

Jack Douglas is a prolific record producer who has produced, among other things, several Aerosmith albums including 1977’s “Draw the Line.” And guess who was wearing the Draw the Line t-shirt he had received as a birthday present from a super-awesome girl? ;-)

The back of Tim’s shirt is now autographed by Mr. Douglas himself! He even wrote a nice personal Christmas message—how awesome is that? That shirt is never being washed again.

Cheap Trick is playing one more night in Los Angeles, Tuesday the 16th, again at the House of Blues. Catch them if you can, or you can wimp out like me and stay home listening to the rain. :-P
