Fell off the No Hair Coloring Wagon
About 6 months ago, I told myself I would stop coloring my hair for at least a year. After years of constant bleaching and coloring, my hair is quite damaged and fragile.
I’ve been all shades, from black to platinum blond. Now, after being my natural off-black for about 1/2 a year, I’m coloring my hair again.
I had been thinking about it for a while. I like the black, I really do, but I’m impulsive and easily bored. I just wanted a change and quite honestly, I miss being blonde! (I did color my hair about 6 weeks ago, but it was just a touch up of black to areas where it was fading back.)
Well, after thinking about it for months now, I discovered my first gray hair ever last week. Ugh! I figure I can be “natural” and conservative with my hair when I’m in my 30s. I should get away with what I can while I still can.
So after a day at the gym and walking around a very crowded downtown Hollywood, I’m spending this record-breaking cold Saturday night in waiting for my new hair color to kick in. Unfortunately, Asian hair is notoriously difficult to color, especially with an at-home kit, and I’m leaving it in at least twice as long as the recommended time and still nothing.
Well, here are some before pics and during pics. I’ll put up the after later.

Before coloring - I'm wearing a smock you dirty minded fool!

During coloring - looks like I got some on my hairline, ergh.

Um... it doesn't look like it's working!

This is what it's supposed to look like: Cherrywood
It doesn’t look much like the box does it? I’d be satisfied if it even has a hint of red. Grrr. We’ll see.
In the meantime, I’m just waiting it out and making some deep-fried pork ribs—my favorite!

Deep Fried Pork Ribs, soooooooo good
Update: It didn’t work. My hair looks the same with a very slight tinge of brownish red in parts. Argh.
