Usually on NYE, the subway runs all night! It is very easy to get from downtown to Universal Station on the red line (about 15 minutes - check http://www.metro.net for schedules). The only issue is the shuttle from the Universal station up to Citywalk usually doesn't run that late. I don't know if they have exceptions for NYE or not and you would have to contact them and ask. Worse comes to worst, you can walk up the hill - not easy but possible. As for taxis, it is much easier to call one and have it come pick you up than to try to flag one down (LA is not like NYC!) but on NYE they are very busy and you could wait a very long time for a taxi.

Hi, can you help me. I am planning to go to Universal citywalk in new year's eve to see the fireworks. Is it easy to get there by subway (from Olive Street, Omni Hotel)? In new year's eve shuttle from universal station to city walk will be operating? In new year's is it possible to count on taxis to go and to return from citywalk?
