Monday

I’m home from work today.  Seems like I’m not the only one; there’s something going around the office.  I spent most of the weekend at home and slept a lot.  After nearly 2 weeks of gorgeous, summer-like weather, it’s been cold and damp, rainy and windy.  I don’t do well with sudden, extreme changes in temperature.  My sinuses go bonkers simply from going from a cold environment to a hot one and I start sneezing like crazy.

What sucks is that I’m not gonna make it to the gym today.  I have been going every weekday for 3 weeks straight. I could turn on the treadmill here and dust-off my dumbbells… hmm, we’ll see.

It’s bright and sunny out but pretty cold, about 55 or so.  I ventured out briefly earlier to the supermarket at the corner and got some yogurt, blueberries, and strawberries.  Figured I should load up on healthy stuff to strengthen my immune system. I also bought more Lean Cuisine frozen dinners.  I finally realized what they were doing, putting the entire selection on sale for $1.77 each when they’re usually $3 - $5 each.  The sale has been going on much longer than a normal sale, about 3 weeks now, and it’s because they’re trying to get people like me, who have resolved to eat healthier, to make Lean Cuisine such an integral part of your life that even when the price is back to normal, you’ll still buy it.  And you know what, it might just work!

I eat a Lean Cuisine every day for lunch at work.  Sometimes, I have one (or two) for dinner, but I have really come to depend on it for a quick, convenient and inexpensive lunch.  So yeah, even when it’s no longer on sale, I will probably still buy it.  Damn you marketing geniuses!

I am feeling better now.  Gotta make sure I go to bed at a good time tonight even though I’ve already slept a lot today (so I probably won’t be tired til late).   Maybe I will get an at-home workout in after all…
