Solotica Hidrocor Ocre on Black Eyes Part II

A while ago I posted photos of my Solotica Hidrocor Ocre contacts on my black eyes. I had written that I didn’t really like the color, especially when compared to my Hidrocharme Mels. Also, I missed having the limbal ring which covered up any iris overlap.

A couple days ago, I decided to give them another try. I wore them for several hours and the color really grew on me. I like the gray they give off now but I think the iris overlap is noticeable if you look for it. It’s the pale yellow ring around my iris where the edge of the colored part of the contact is bigger than my actual iris. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker but might be of a concern to some.

Here’s an updated picture to help anyone who may be wondering what the Solotica Hidrocor Ocre colored contacts look on dark brown/black eyes.

  • I think you look beautiful with the ocres, I love grey eyes, do they look really grey in life? Are they lighter than the mels on black eyes?
  • I don't really like them in real life. They look like cloudy yellowish/gray eyes to me. I should try to take and post better pictures at some point. However, Solotica is inconsistent with their manufacturing and some people with black eyes have gotten different results with these ocres and really love them. I prefer my mels. :-)

hello again!!! i got the lenses and they are really amazing! i mean the colour of my eyes is so natural it is scary ( even if you are very very close you cant see the contact ) i guess the choice of colour was right since my eyes are light and i wear them only in special occasions ;) my eyes were a bit dry after but while wearing them (5 hours) i forgot i was wearing contacts ether way im happy that i bought them :)

Many, many thanks for the photos and the advice !!!

hello!!! i would really like to know if these lenses are confotabe, like for example can you wear them for 5 hours without problems? also do they need to be soaked before you wear them?? i wear regular contacts and im afraid these may harm my eyes...but i love their colour (my eyes are hazel brown with a little green and i think the colour will suit me!!

    thanx
  • I'm sorry to say but Solotica aren't very comfortable in my opinion. I
wear regular contacts every day for vision correction (I'm blind as a
bat!) and Solotica lenses feel much thicker. I understand they need to
be thicker for the color payoff but I can't wear them for more than 4
hours without getting tired eyes. Also, they are inconsistent and one
lens may be a bit thicker than the other and it's something you'd
notice if you're a regular lens wearer. I only wear these contacts
out once in a while for a night out. I don't think it's good to wear
    these regularly. Hope this helps.
