Faking It
I’ve been trying to blog more often, and for a while there, I was doing pretty well. Unfortunately, I need to be in the right “mood” to blog and the mood frequently strikes when I’m not at the keyboard.
Because I’m half forcing this entry, it’ll just be a bunch of random thoughts and things I had wanted to write about at some point but didn’t get around to.
The Oscars. I thought the Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin shtick there at the beginning worked quite well. You saw the set up and punchlines coming from a mile away yet it was still funny. I wanted District 9 to win Best Picture, but knew it wouldn’t and wasn’t surprised that The Hurt Locker got it. I knew Avatar wouldn’t win even though we were being told it was a 2-horse race. Visually, Avatar was mind-blowing but the basic story was nothing to write home about.
Oscar fashion. It’s strange how I personally am not big on fashion and makeup myself, yet I enjoy reading about it. My best dressed would include Anna Kendrick, Demi Moore, and Rachel McAdams. I did not like Vera Fermiga’s coral reef thing she had going on. I was skimming through Best and Worst Dressed lists on several major sites and it’s funny how one actress can be the Best Dressed on one site and Worst Dressed on another (Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lopez, Vera Farmiga and Amanda Seyfried). It goes to show that when it comes to fashion, all that matters is that you wear what you like. You will never please everybody.
This needs a proper entry in itself, but I introduced low-intensity, high-endurance cardio into my routine and boy is it making a huge difference! I’ve been miserable for the past couple days because of seasonal allergies and really itchy to tackle a proper workout again.
I bought a wooden shelf and metal mounting brackets today at the Home Depot. I’m going to mount a shelf near my treadmill so I can put a water bottle and sweat rag there. I had left the metal brackets on the couch only to find Penny sleeping on them later! Sleeping on angular, cold pointy metal brackets! She is a strange one. I have found her in the past sleeping on the end of a 10-lb dumbbell and on the stiletto heel of a shoe. I need to create a gallery call “What Penny Sleeps On.”
Alright, that’s it for now. I’ll write a proper entry soon.
