Eyeglasses, Sunglasses, Hairbands and Headaches

I just did a Google search and found one other person with a similar problem but no answers.

I usually wear contacts but I wear my glasses at night and on my weekends in.  Unfortunately, I can never wear my glasses for long because after about an hour I get this weird headache towards the lower back of my head.  I don’t think it’s my prescription.  The same thing happens when I’m wearing non-prescription sunglasses or hairbands.  At first I thought maybe it’s because the glasses or hairbands are too tight for my head, but I doubt that’s the case. They don’t feel tight at all and I even have a pair of too-loose glasses that often slip down my nose.  It happens with every pair of glasses (prescription or otherwise) and every hairband I own from soft, fabric ones to those  horseshoe-shaped headbands.

I would like to know what’s causing this but haven’t found any answers online.  Of course many have suggested the tightness thing or that the prescription is too strong, but I know that’s not the case considering it happens with non-prescription glasses and hairbands.  I wonder if it’s just because I’m not used to having something on my head so even the slightest pressure will throw off my “energy” and mess things up. Who knows? ::shrugs::

  • You know, I get that, too. I know it's not my prescription because it can be caused by sunglasses. It can also happen with necklaces any heavier than a simple chain. Glad I'm not the only one! Any chance your forehead also gets itchy when you eat mashed potatoes? Ha ha.
